Something New…

We would like to tell you about some exciting new treatments available at the office to help patients continue to enjoy a healthy life. The newest addition is a Kennedy Spinal Decompression Table.

Spinal decompression treatment works by gently stretching the spine, acting as a pump for the discs. The stretching changes the forces exerted on the spine and the position of the spine. This takes pressure off the spinal discs, the gel-like cushions between the vertebrae creating a negative pressure in the disc. As a result, bulging or herniated discs may retract or pull themselves back to a normal position, taking pressure off nerves and other structures in your spine. Because discs do not have a handy blood supply like muscles do, the retraction helps promote movement of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids into the discs so they can heal.
